Court Procedures for a Citation
Entering an Appearance After Receiving a Citation
You have 15 days to enter an appearance with the Municipal Court of Record in writing or in person. A telephone call does not constitute as an appearance in the court. The due date will appear on the citation.
Failure to Appear
If you fail to appear or answer to the citation within 15 days of receiving the citation, it may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest. Additional fees will be assessed on each violation when a warrant is issued. Please be aware that you are subject to arrest by any agency that confirms an active warrant for your arrest. The arrest warrant(s) will remain active until the fines and fees have been paid or a bond has been posted.
Resolving Your Citation
You may pay the fine, request Defensive Driving, request a deferral, seek legal counsel or set for Court. You are not required to have an attorney to request a court date.
