Payment may be made online, by mailing a cashier check or money order to 104 W College, Alvarado TX 76009, or by placing a money order or cashier check in the night drop located on the side of the building. For any payment made by money order or cashier check please write the citation number on the memo line.

Court Procedures for a Citation

Entering an Appearance After Receiving a Citation

You have 30 calendar days to enter an appearance with the Municipal Court of Record in writing or in person. A telephone call does not constitute as an appearance in the court. The due date will appear on the citation.

Failure to Appear

If you fail to appear or answer to the citation within 30 calendar days of receiving the citation, it may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest. Additional fees will be assessed on each violation when a warrant is issued. Please be aware that you are subject to arrest by any agency that confirms an active warrant for your arrest. The arrest warrant(s) will remain active until the fines and fees have been paid or a bond has been posted.

We have retained the law firm of Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP to assist in resolving delinquent cases, and you may receive text messages from Linebarger. Be aware that there have been recent scam attempts to impersonate various government entities and their collection agents.

Resolving Your Citation

You may pay the fine, request Driving Safety Course, request a deferral, seek legal counsel or set for Court. You are not required to have an attorney to request a court date.

Types of Payments Accepted

We now accept cash, cashier's check, money order, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and your bank debit card at the court window. 

You may also pay by phone at 866-287-3501, or online. A 3% processing fee will be added for all credit card payments. Payment by phone without making prior arrangement with the court will result as a conviction against your driving or criminal record

Cashier's check or money order will be accepted via mail. No Personal Checks will be accepted. 

Please Note:

  • Fees are subject to change, please contact the Court for any questions
  • When paying warrants online please allow 72 hours for clearance
  • Print and retain your receipts for proof of payment

All warrants paid online must be paid in full before they can be cleared. Contact the court for any other payment arrangements.

Eligible offenses may be able to request Deferred Disposition or to take a Driving Safety Course online. Access to a printer/scanner is required to complete the online request.

If you do not select an option for Deferred Disposition or Driving Safety Course online and have not set up a prior arrangement with the court for your citation, payment online will show as a conviction against your driving or criminal record.
